Connecting through Blogs!

Phones give us the ability to connect with anyone anywhere on the planet with an internet connection yet we mostly use them for consumption. An argument could be made that the consumption leads to connections but hardly do we have meaningful connections by leaving a comment on a Youtube video or “liking” a photo we see on Facebook.

Blogs are a great way to not only finding like minded people but topics which we already are passionate about. Blogs act as a online after school club where everyone is welcome and the conversations within the group are often passionate and even when a debate is had with opposing ideas the goal is to build.

A chess club for example can have a debate on which is the best opening move, a photography club can discuss which format is better digital or film, and a book club can have a discourse on which author had the most impact on literature.

Above all it is important to remain respectful when leaving comments and having a conversation when someone takes the time to reply. Blogs can be a great medium to bounce ideas, give advice, ask for advice, and build professional friendships through meaningful conversations.
